Hi, as you can see I got the text to my phone, on a pay pay monthly SIM with 02, when I log into my 02 app there is nothing there to say my contract has or is expired

It doesn't expire. You have a minimum term which you have reached and are now free to change to save money.

Just follow the prompts and choose the UPGRADE option
Complete the deal and nothing on your account changes except the tariff at the new cheaper cost
