Hello. I bought an Apple Watch 8 last week through O2 and when I try and activate the data service I get either an error code 90 or 53. Can anyone help please?

It's a known issue that O2 are working on.
If you message O2 on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this
