Is there a way to check tariff upgrade options within myO2? I don't want a new phone, just move to a different tariff. When I click on See upgrade options (under "You can upgrade today") it shows me various offers but no other tariff options.

Use USwitch

https://www.uswitch.com/mobiles/compare/sim_only_deals/o2/

Choose the deal you want

This will automatically redirect you to the O2 website

Just follow the prompts and choose the UPGRADE option

Complete the deal and nothing on your account changes except the tariff at the new cheaper cost

Payment date is the same and your next bill will be at the cheaper rate and will be made up of the pro rata cost of your old tariff and your new tariff

The change should show in My O2 within 24 hours

Volt benefits will still apply as will possibly a 3 month extra such as Disney+

Thanks. I thought there was a way to check tariff options from within myO2, without going through uswitch? At least that's what I seemed to understand after reading some posts here.

@One-two

In your MyO2 you need to select the sim options, but they will be twice the price of going through uswitch.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Another way to check your tariff options @One-two is to visit you local O2 retail store :-

Store locator | O2 UK | Find Your Nearest O2 Store

https://stores.o2.co.uk/

However, whilst that can be good for fact-finding, you will inevitably get a better deal by making your actual purchase from Uswitch. 👍

Which will be exactly the same as what is shown in the MyO2 and the least contact with pushy commission based sales people, the better.

Hi

thank you again for your help. I checked the deals on Uswitch and the tariffs look great. Just a couple of questions: one of the deals seems to require me to register with Uswitch Plus, whereas another one doesn't. Is Uswitch Plus free? Also, is it possible that after the 12-month contract length of the deal O2 will put me on a much higher tariff?

Yes it's free and just a way to get your details so they can spam you, so check the permissions you give for contact.

Your chosen tariff will remain the same until you change it.

I was asking because some good deals only last for the specific contract length (eg, 12 months), after which there's a massive hike..

That's only if they are advertised as having a discount applied for x amount of months @One-two
