What happens when simplicity is cancelled?

Hey guys. Going to cancel my 30 day rolling simplicity contract. 

What happens when that is done.. will my sim just go back to being pay& go? 

As after i'll be buying a 24month contract and hope to keep same NO. 

I tried to do it through o2 but it is a refurbed phone so that option is not availbale to will have to do it this way

If you cancel you will lose the number.

You are just upgrading to a refurbished handset and you should keep the number and move to the new contract minimum term.

I cannot upgrade to the refurbished handset as the refurb deal is for NEW customers only. Since i am on simplicity I dont qualify for that deal. Thought I could cancel the simplicity, buy the phone/tarrif and port my number over. 

Seems that is not the case

Who is the deal from as o2 state all offers for new customers are available to existing customers they call it there fair deal

The deal is with o2. It is for the refurbished galaxy s3. I have spoken to 2 advisors on the phone and they both said I cannot upgrade to that. I would have to cancel my simplicity.. what do you think?

Should I just revert it back to PAG? if so how would I go about doing that? Thanks for help so far

Called up for a 3rd time and was told I can not get this deal through an upgrade..

and although they cannot advice me what to do technically. It was suggested I just cancel simplicity and order the deal. However he never mentioned If I was able to keep my current number which would save me a HUGE amount of bother.

To keep your number and be a "new" customer you will have to port your number to a different network (this will end your contract) then take out the "new customer" deal and port your original number back to O2... Otherwise, changing to PAYG would still make you an O2 customer, unless the deal only applies if contract customer?
