Upgrade on current contract

I am due to upgrade my current O2 contract but no longer have access to the number or phone. Can I still get a new contract, I'm aware they usually send a code to the number?
Any advice is greatful.

I'd suggest the only way to upgrade would be to go in store with passport, driving license and utility bills to prove your identity.

You would also need to activate the new sim that comes with the upgrade as usually it would just be transferred to the old sim, wherever that may be ?

It's my last payment on the 17th of July.
I'll find out then. I've been with them for like four years and had two contracts so I'm hoping they will sort something.
