My o2 contract through mobiles.co.uk is up & I'm taking out a new o2 contract through mobile phone direct, can I port my number to my new o2 contract?

Yes you can.

Once you get the new contract just call cust service to migrate your number Guide: How to find help & contact O2

Don't be tempted to try a sim swap yourself though. You must call to get it done correctly.
