New Contract, Transferring old number to terminate

Long story short, I've been speaking to O2 to sort upgrading early, they inform me by taking a new contract and then requesting the transfer of my existing O2 number to the new one, this should terminate by existing contract and I'll be billed the remainder of my contract.

Now my question is, the deal I want to take up is through Carphone Warehouse, Can I still transfer my number from my existing O2 account and apply it to the nw contract?

Will I also still be able to log in to O2 etc, I cant see why I wouldn't but wanted to check.

Yes you can, the contract will be with O2, doesn't matter where you get it from, choose the deal suited to you
