I bought my then mum & dad a Dorro phone some time ago now for their convenience ... att my mum said 'We don't want it, here have it back'
In time both of them got to use the device with confidence ... even sometimes sorting out problems using the instruction booklet in the box
Att it was 'golden' because when mum was out-&-about in town, if dad needed her or mum say had an acccident / fall then she could contact dad ... mindst you, she didn't like answering the phone in public & comlained about the noise it made when in her handbag ... I decided not to bother teaching them texting even though it would have been convenient ... could not get mum to get her round that if I ring her it cost's me nothing as both of us are on O2 ... she got used to going into the O2 shop in town to top up
However, since dad died January last year, well the phone is 'disconnected' ... she most probably has not been putting it on charge regularly ... & ... not using the Dorro at least once a month ... both my tech savvy brother-in-law & the staff at the O2 shop had a right old job on to get the phone in correct working order once before
Mum is only alone in her own home generally speaking ... but ... she went to church recently all on her own ... & ... luckily the lady Revered helped across a nasty road junction outside the front of church ... imhho mum needs the phone if she's going to trip out by herself now & in the future
Can the Dorro be got in order again ? ... I'll be the one to have to convince mum, once again, for her own safety, she needs to be able to use the mobile phone
