So, I've lost my phone. Its basically in pieces on the side of the road somewhere. No chance of finding it, or of anyone else using it. I'm on pay monthly, with my device paid off ages ago and just have a very low, old airtime plan. What I'd like to do is replace the sim and just buy another handset off another site to save money and keep my old airtime plan running rather than have to switch to a more expensive one if I need to get a new phone and sim from o2. Will o2 be happy to replace my sim knowing I'm going to get the actual phone elsewhere, or will I have to get it all through them? Any chance I can stay on my old plan? I can't call to ask as have no number to call from. I'm thinking I'll have to go into an o2 shop and do it all there as can't call. I've messaged on SM but it says will take up to 72 hours to reply and I can't wait that long.
