Solved: 5G phone but no 5G in my area

Hi, I am looking to upgrade to an iPhone 12 5G, but I don't have 5G in my area, only 4G.

will my phone still connect to the internet? If so, will I notice any changes or do I wait until I have 5G in my area?

It will work as normal on 4g and transition automatically to 5g when available in your area.
