I would like to change from 4G to 5 G I was told to contact my carrier

You can't 5G is not available to PAYG customers on o2 you either need to move to GiffGaff,  or to a pay monthly contract

You need to order a new sim card from customer service or you can get one from any O2 store free of charge

or

We’re just customers like you but it sounds like you’ll need someone to access your account which can’t be done from here. If you message O2 using the social media links below, they should be able to help you with this

As far as I know,5G isn’t available to pay as you go customers!
