Unable to use my phone abroad on Pay as you Go - calls and texts are not working

Hello,

 

This is my third time when I'm abroad and my tarif does not work as intended.

I am unable to make and receive any calls as well as I cannot send any text messages.

I can receive texts and I can use my data.

After several attempts to speak with customer support over the last few months, this issue has still not been fixed, although each time I was assured it had been.

 

Roaming included in the PAYG bundle was the only reason for me to switch to o2. If that is not resolved, I will just go back to my previous carrier as I currently see no difference except for getting loads of text messages with unwanted offers.

 

All troubleshooting steps have already been performed and there is nothing wrong with any of my phones I tried to get it working on.

Please, help.

Which country are you in?

In countries or on network that have closed 3G making and receiving calls can be flakey

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Some things to try:

Manually search for another network

Set phone to 2g only to test if calls work.

(some countries have turned off 3g and there's no 4g calling with O2)

Check with O2 whether you have a roaming bar on your account. Do this via social media

Hi @MI5 ,

Like mentioned above, all basic troubleshooting steps have already been taken multiple times.

Therefore, manual search did not do anything, setting to 2g only did not do anything. I am currently in Poland, which still uses its 3g network as well (there are plans to switch it off in the future).

When trying to make a call there is a message "Sorry but the service you're trying to use is not available for this number".

Text messages just fail to send. RCS use 4g data so these go through but some carriers still use SMS.

There shouldn't be any roaming bar on my account.
