If buying a new sim free phone outright you can just use your current sim and tariff, however, if you are upgrading your current contract, you must take a new tariff which is associated to the device you are upgrading to.

@Anait If the new phone you're buying is 5G capable and you're in a 5G enabled area you can request a 5G sim and use it with your current plan. There is no extra charge for using 5G.
