Hi, 

Today I received a called from 0344 809 0202 stating I am being offered a 50% discount on my monthly tariff as a way to support people through the pandemic. They sent me 2 texts, one with a code and they kept asking me to clarify the code but was really paranoid it was a scam. The number came up as from O2 and texts came through as O2. Wanted to make sure if it was a scam or not. I checked the number as it seemed fine but am really paranoid.

Well done for being cautious.

You can't always be sure the number that appears is real as scammers can put up numbers they want.

100% scam, o2 or VM will never call you up and offer a 50% discount. 

Please ensure you change your passwords, on my o2 as a precaution

It's a well known scam.
Block the number and do not follow any links.
Forward the scam number to 7726 - It's free.
Other ways to report here including Action Fraud website, the Police have a directive to investigate all current scams.
