just been trying to buy a new mobile phone, and couldent work out why it wasent taking payment from my isa ebit card. then looked at the 'payment' methods, and they say you only accept creditcards.
now i know that cant be right, because that would be increadbley unresponsable to only acept payments from people prepared to run up debt for themselves, and not people that are actually cearfull with there money. so how can i pay for my new mobile phone please?

I’ve used a debit card to pay upfront payments so I know it’s possible but we also know the online system is flaky at best.
Try calling customer service to pay or pop into your local store.

@jowrightDid you have enough credit to pay via this route? Is your debit card still current and within date
Debit cards are usually the preferred method of payment.
It may be worth you trying once more a little later to see if it accepts it. If not follow the advice above
We always recommend going instore when possible. That way you will probably find the phone in stock and you can pay and walk out with it....

yes, i did have enough money. we tryed my card first then moved the money over to my husbands account to try and pay with his card. boath are in date.
we had to phone them in the end and do the transaction over the phone.
it actually says on the payment page that the accept visa. master card and american express.
no mention whatsoever of visa debit or anything other than credit cards.
seems irrisponsable to me to only accept credit, rather than people whoe are not going to go into debt to buy something.

@jowrightVisa includes Debit as well as Credit cards. I don't have any credit cards at all and have always made purchases with my visa debit card
