Anyone hunting the Lynx down should be hunted down themselves! 6 days now so release a mate into the wild and let these beautiful creatures breed....
Escaped lynx hunters to boom mum's call across Dartmoor in bid to capture cat

How the hell did she escape? Endangered species and she got free??. I hope to God they don't shoot her
(Says Cleo with her Lynx profile...)
Dartmoor is NOT a natural habitat for the Lynx who has been raised in captivity....so no I would want her back to safety in the Zoo...

That's the point - they are trying to humanly capture him to reunite him with his Mother - apparently he chewed his way out of the enclosure.
Which meant the enclosure wasn't up to standard. The lynx had only been there a day. I know they are trying to capture it but @jonsie was inferring that they should release another one and let it mate in the wild. Not in my book......Mind you it's probably trying to find it's way home...to the Zoo in Kent...
Edited to add...as a rule I don't like to see wild animals raised and kept in captivity...However if it wasn't for places like this and conservation trusts....some would become extinct. That's even worse...

I'm all for releasing animals into their natural habitats but only if they are capable of survival.
Zoo animals become too domesticated and lose their natural hunting instincts.
Which is the point of conservation trusts. Usually take in animals to release into the wild. However if they are critically endangered and at risk of dying out then we have to keep them at any cost. Look at China with their conservation of the giant panda......a wonderful revival

I just don't hold with zoos I'm afraid. I have been to quite a few round the world and whilst it's great seeing magnificent creatures there is always a part of me that feels so sad they are locked away to protect them the brain-dead people who think that hunting and killing them is a sport.
I want to see creatures in the wild not in confined spaces behind bars being fed twice a day when their natural instincts are stripped from them. I make no apologies for wanting the Lynx to thrive in this country in the wild. I've seen tigers and elephants abused so much in Thailand that it breaks my heart.

I am totally in support of you @jonsie in relation to any zoo that abuses these beautiful animals. We have heard horror stories. Even with the tigers in Tibet who were meant to be revered. However, this is different. Flaviu was born and raised in captivity therefore has no knowledge of survival in the wild
