Phishing call from 01243 786088

I received a call from a man with an asian accent claiming to be from O2 and offering me a 50% discount on my monthly plan for 12 months 'in order to retain loyal customers'. All he needed was for me to confirm my email address was the same as he had on file. And then to provide a photo of myself to him.  I challenged him and said he should tell me what he has and I will confirm or not. He would not do this. He was very persistent and could not convince me he was genuinely from O2. I said I will contact O2 myself to check this offer was not a scam.  Has anyone else had any experience of this?
