Thank you so much @Enlli for the thread and post.

I have so many fond memories of "The Lady" - as Mi Amigo was known by Radio Caroline`s founder Ronan O`Rahilly and the djs and crew who worked on the ship.

I was fortunate enough to go aboard Mi Amigo when she was in Zandaam, Holland after being hi-jacked in March 1968 and before her return to the North Sea and the airwaves in 1972.

The ship was a legend - a legend which will never be forgotten.

The radio station before and AFTER Radio One aired for the first time

Caroline kept us entertained every working day  throughout my apprenticeship which started in 1965 and being a motor mechanic, whenever I went for parts or breakdowns or testing cars after the job was done, inevitably all the car radios were tuned to Caroline (I seem to remember it as 199 on the MW)

Nostalgia has a two way effect on me

Good times but sad to think things will never be the same again.

Just because of that I never look at the thousands of old photos I have

My life is defined as pre-accident and post-accident

Reminds me @Mi-Amigo of "The Big Wide Wonderful World of Daffy Don Allen" - or was he on the Isle of Man ship ?
