Topic.
I've just recorded a video on my Galaxy S3 phone, and I need to edit it before I upload it to my Youtube account to make the file size a bit smaller and stuff.
Anyone know any good free or mega cheap video editing tools for Windows 7?
I know about Windows Movie Maker, but I don't think it's on Dad's PC which runs Windows 7 Home Premium.

If your Dads pc doesn't have Movie Maker you can download it from Microsoft for free at this link:

I tend to point people towards Serif's free versions of software which are obviously limited but their software is pretty easy to use straight off.
Once edited, you can reduce the size via Handbrake which has multiple options to convert to any format. I use that to convert my DVD's to mp4 with excellent results.
BTW, Serif will probably send you loads of emails on special offers on their products and usually at far cheaper prices than the online site, sometimes reducing the price of the last version to ridiculous levels. I haven't used Movie Plus but I am very pleased with the other software I have purchased from them- PagePlus, Drawplus & Photoplus.

I might try that Serif thing, how much are the full versions once the 30 day trials run out? As for the emails from Serif, I'm a bit put off by that actually, I hate spam.

It varies on the actual product but in the region of £80. However, they like to sell and because I've purchased in the past, I can get it for half price. Like I said, the emails always have special offers on for half price or so and usually comes with the printed resource guides which are quite handy rather than the obligatory pdf manual. Sometimes they do offer some great offers on other boxed software which are difficult to beat elsewhere.
Just don't give your the phone number otherwise they'll ring you with offers and er, you can get more value if you say no first time Not all the time though, just when there's a new version around the corner or a new version released. Last time I got Photozoom Pro for great price on top of Photoplus discount. As ever, just set your marketing preferences to no contact to avoid emails etc.

I used Handbrake on the video I reocrded last night, and it has rediced the video file size to less than half of what it was before, but now when I try to upload it to Youtube it says the video has audo/video sync issues.

But if I recall, Adobe has an issue with AMD chipsets and only wants to work with Intel? Might have been the case a few years ago but not so sure on the latest ones.
Thanks v7.0 for reminding me for Lightworks! Only problem with that is it the Pro version has AVHCD which my video camera has That small fact and the other one is that I need a new computer to deal with AVHCD which I'm not doing till next year till Elite:Dangerous comes out and I need a gaming machine
