Hi, depends what windows are you using. As you connect your phone to laptop there should show icon in the right bottom corner that you device is instaled. Then go to my computer and you will see under c or any other drives your phone, then you click on it and phone memory a memory card will open and then you can copy any files, photos, music, video in and out the phone faster then over Kies in any place in windows. This is the biggest advantage of android that not all has to go over Kies, like Iphone over Itunes.

The official support software is Kies http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/JSP
Once installed you will/should be able to copy photos, music & videos etc to and from your phone & PC.

This is true ^^ after you have installed the phone drivers (which are part of Kies) unless you are on Win8 which "should" install the phone as a composite android device automatically.

Then you will need to install Kies for the drivers first....

What I do is plug in the USB cable to my phone, plug it into the PC and open up "My Computer" in Windows and then just drag and drop photos from the DCIM folder to my Desktop, then upload them to my Google Picasa account.

Simple solution for me because last time I tried to install Kies it killed me Pooter!
