So VAT goes up to 20% in January.
Link to O2 information on this : http://tinyurl.com/2011tariffs
Is O2 letting people know about the VAT change?
Yes. If you’ve got an O2 corporate account, your account team will be in touch nearer the time.
Otherwise, look out for information in these places:
On your bill
On our top-up and information phone lines (if you're on Pay & Go)
In our shops
In special text messages from O2.

Be interesting to see what happens to PAYG
If I remember rightly nothing changed when VAT went down, but I bet allowances could alter this time round

When VAT went down O2 increased the value of the top-up so that it compensated for the VAT decrease. So when you topped up £10 you actually go £10.22.
As this is a permanent increase, it would be more likely they would adjust prices at some stage. Its only an extra 2.1p per £1 though.

VAT on P&G
How will the VAT increase to 20% on 4th January 2011 affect Pay&Go customers?
We’ll send a text message to all our Pay&Go customers in December to let you know how the VAT increase will affect you. We’ll also update this page with more details in December.

Isn't that the same link as in the first post? It doesn't actually say what will happen to Pay and Go charges. Just that O2 will inform people in December.
Possibly they are waiting to see what other providers are doing and will let people know on December 31st!
