I've recently been plagued by calls from landline numbers about ten times by people saying they're from O2 offering a 30% discount on my bill due to service outages (which I've not experienced). After listening to questions on the first such call I decided it was a scam and hung up. About two minutes later I had another call from someone about the same thing on a different number. It's just happened again, fourth day in a row. The numbers are: 0131 381 3315; 0129 782 4007; 0123 354 1026; 0204 538 2008; 0292 264 5913; 0114 697 5112; 0113 534 0158; and 0131 358 9516. These locations range from Edinburgh to Ashford in Kent.
My understanding is that O2 don't make such calls - they already have my bank and email details so can email and adjust the bill without needing to speak to me.
Or am I being paranoid?
