Hi fellow "grand prize" winners,
$$$$$$$$ PLEASE POST A REPLY IF YOU ALSO RECEIVED THIS MESSAGE $$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I am also one of 23(000,000,000) who received this text message.
"You have won 415,000.00 GBP, contact, ect. . ." something about the 2nd draw, from the first prize, and that sort of nonsense.
Just sent my contact info today. . . Should of checked this out first. . .
What's this business about them wanting money to release the prize ?
They have not hit me up for anything yet. This should be entertaining.
Also looked @ ####. . .
LOL . . . :womanindifferent:
"If it is too good to be true, it usually is. . ."
- Not sure who said that. . . ? Someone said it before me though !

You are unlikely to ever win a competition, or receive a prize for something you have never entered.

Please don't feed these people with your personal information. 😐

I have also recieved this text stating that I have won the prize of 415,000.00 GBP. I live in Canada. was skeptical at first, but replied to it to see what would happen. the email address was for jonathan lewis... ####

How can someone get an email address with this company if they are not an employee?

I am still skeptical, but at the same time wonder if it might be legit.

after much searching have not found anything about this scam for o2 mobile except here, however, found many posts for similar scam with orange mobile on several other sites when i googled the phone # for the lawyer that was to assist with claiming my prize. the # was for a different person than the one i was told to contact by o2. have not called it, as i do not want the huge phone bill.

I also googled the lawyers name, which also appeared to be real.

if this is a scam, these guys are good.

Anyone can sign up for email@o2.co.uk. An employee would have an address such as your.name@o2.com
I can assure you it's not legit. As you say they are good...they do it for a living!

I also received this text msg just a few hours ago at work. i just managed to search about this right now.it was obviously a scam(how did i know? because i never signed up for any draws or promos or such specially at a UK mobile network since im from Canada as well). But it doesn't hurt to have a lil' hope about winning. But thanks so much guys, you've cleared up my mind. Glad i didn't go for it.

i wonder how these people get our phone #s?! and how do they know which network we use. for example i use Fido as my carrier. on the text msg itself it says notify@fido.ca (o2 Mobile) and the you won blah blah. That's why i had a lil hope on this scam 'coz it mentioned my carrier.

also, i noticed most of us who received this msg are from Canada. i guess these scumbags are targeting Canadians. So watch out Canadians and anyone else who'll receive this text scam.

Mobile numbers are issued in blocks to carriers so they know which network that range belongs to that they have spammed but if you port your number they will think you are still on old carrier.

Hope that helps

I would suspect that you will be ok if those are the only details they have. Any scam would need you to give bank details so I doubt that you need to worry as anyone can get names and addresses from various sources.Just be aware should they contact you again. It might be a thought to check with your bank and make them aware of the situation.
