I'm using Chrome v.26.0.1410.64 and have spotted this at the bottom of any Google search I make. The spelling is correct at the header.
Also it shows just one page number and "Next".
I thought I'd picked up some malware but all the scans come up clean.
Anybody else seeing this ?

Have you tried disabling all of your browser add-ons?

Yes.....I did acknowledge this in Message 14 above
I'm currently trying perksie's suggestion re. add-ons but again I've not changed anything recently AFAIK and also why is only the .co.uk derivative affected....very strange.

Gold Star for perksie !!
Disabled everything then added back one by one.......and the culprit ?
The most popular Chrome extension, with over 15 million users! Blocks ads all over the web.
So I will start investigating why.......I do have a clue because I remember a thread discussing adverts in Gmail and I asked "What adverts?" which prompted me to disable Adblock and see what the adverts were on the Gmail page.......something must have changed in the Adblock settings at that point.
Cheers perksie.....pint of what you fancy will be waiting for you on the sideboard in Wanty's later on.

It'll have to wait until I've finished a rather large, both in diameter and thickness, clotted cream and strawberry jam scone......neither beer nor cider goes down well after jam and cream.
