It appears that since joint up with virgin, o2 now run a full credit check for an upgrade?!

To be fair @Janwwms a search has always been added for the Device Plan, as it is a regulated product.. 

I did an Upgrade recently and as long as you have a clear payment history with o2 then it should be fine...
