Community Spotlights - All you need to know💡

Hi everyone, 

The Community Spotlights have been a recurring and long-standing tradition that everyone always enjoys! We thought it was about time to put together some info around what they are, where they are, and how you can get involved. 

What are the Community Spotlights?

It's a fun Q&A post in which we interview a member so everyone can get to know them a bit better. We usually include a mix of serious and silly questions, and the comments are usually full of additional questions and banter too. 

How are they put together?

We usually reach out to members, and if they're interested in doing a Spotlight we send them some questions via Private Message. Once we have their replies, we put a post together, and voila! If you're interested in a Spotlight yourself, feel free to take the leap and send the Community team a PM

I have some suggestions on the questions & format of the Spotlights: how do I submit them?

We'd love your feedback! If you have ideas on how to improve the current format, or suggestions on new questions you'd like us to include in future Spotlights, feel free to share those in the comments below.

I'd love to read a Spotlight on a specific member: how do I nominate them?

How exciting! If there's a specific member you'd like us to prepare a Spotlight with, send Marjo, Martin or myself a PM and we'll see what we can do. Please keep in mind that some people are more shy and private than others, and not everyone might be comfortable in sharing things about themselves.

That was for sure. You know, when you retire you should be able to enjoy the next 20 years before the kids stick you in a home

@jonsie @Cleoriff Maybe at some point we could look into doing a new spotlight for those of you who did one so long ago? The format has changed now anyway so it would be a different topic entirely

Reading some of the older ones (older spotlights, not the members!) they were a while ago now.
Didn't even think to look for these when I joined and since then it's not something that's been needed.
