Absolutely terrible experience upgrading

I think O2 system is broken. I wanted to upgrade my contract to include a device. I finilised my selection, plan and delivery information on the website and was pretty happy with the experience (though it's a bit clunky and code activation takes forever). However, it seems that you can't complete the process online and I was directed to the call center. I ended up spending 45 min on a phone going through ABSOLUTELY the same process! Even the terms and conditions had to be sent to my email address AGAIN. It was a huge waste of everyone's time and the fact that I can't make the purchase online with the provider that has all my details if frankly unacceptable.
