hiya, someone has been sending SMS text messages to my contacts on another device…. how do i stop this?

 We're just customers like you but it sounds as if you need someone to access your account which can't be done from the forum.

You need  to contact O2.

If you message O2 on Facebook ( https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter ( https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram ( https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help. Or call them on 202 or 0344 809 0202 (contract)

You will need to turn off the feature in your OS 

 

For iPhone 

 

 
To send SMS messages from an iPad or Mac, you can use the Messages app and enable text message forwarding on your iPhone: 
 
 

Instructions
iPad
1. Open the Messages app 2. Tap Compose 3. Enter the recipient's phone number, contact name, or Apple ID 4. Type your message 5. Tap Send
Mac
1. Open the Messages app 2. Click to start a new message 3. Enter the recipient's name, email address, or phone number 4. Enter your message 5. Press Return to send
iPhone
1. Sign in to iMessages using your Apple ID 2. Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > You Can Be Reached By 3. Check both your phone number and email address 4. Select the Mac or iPad you want to send and receive text messages from

 

 

For Android (samsung mainly)

 

To send SMS messages from another device on Android, you can use Google Messages for web or the Call & Text on Other Devices feature on Samsung devices: 
 
 
  • Google Messages for web
    You can use Google Messages for web on your computer to send SMS messages: 
     
     
    1. Open Messages for web in your browser 
       
       
    2. Pair your Google Messages account on your device and computer 
       
       
    3. Carrier fees will apply, just like on the mobile app 
       
       
  • Call & Text on Other Devices
    You can use this feature on Samsung devices to send messages and make calls on your tablet: 
     
     
    1. Sign into the same Samsung account on your phone and tablet 
       
       
    2. On your phone, go to Settings > Advanced features 
       
       
    3. Toggle on Call & text on other devices 
       
       
    4. Agree to the terms and conditions 
       
       
    5. On your tablet, you should see "Connected to - Your connected to device should be your Galaxy smartphone" 
       
       
    6. You can toggle on Use mobile networks so other devices can receive messages and calls even when your phone isn't connected to Wi-F
