Hi, I'm Alan.

My ISP is TalkTalk and I have an iphone . I can receive e-mails OK but can not send them. I think it is something weird with the TalkTalk / o2 / apple relationship. Can anyone help with a solution?

Or you could try "smtp.o2.co.uk" on Port 25 and do not tick SSL

Hello Alan and welcome to the forums slight_smile

Is this a recent issue? Or has it always been present?

Try this;

Go to settings> mail,contacts,calenders> (the TalkTalk account)

Once your in there scroll down to the SMTP setting under "Outgoing mail server"

can you check your details are correct in there please.

From TalkTalks website;

Server: smtp.talktalk.net

Port: 587

for both Imap and Pop3

Liquid, hi

Settings all seem to be correct. I had an iphone 3GS with the same problem but thought that by upgrading to the iphone 5 the problem would go away. no such luck. Any ideas?

Try MI5s answer hes normally spot on.

If no such luck then can you try comparing your phones settings against TalkTalks step by step

Edit: Ive just found a website claiming to use port 25 for the smtp.talktalk.net server could try that as well.

Edit2: Try deleteing the SMTP server then adding it in again. I had a simular issue with the now defunct ntl smtp.
