GPRS/EDGE connection time out

Anonymous
Not applicable
At work, I struggle to get 4/3G data connections, and GPrs and edge are in abundance, however, all connections time out (had this issue since iPhone 4, but is only really become a problem since I struggle to get 3G at my new work).

Is there a setting in iPhone which prevents data being loaded on edge/gprs due to slower transfer rates??

Hi @Anonymous Welcome to the forum

What iPhone do you have now? I ask... because a quick search of the Apple forum shows that this tends to be more of an issue with the iPhone 5...and that the 4 is better at loading...? I didn't find a fix though...just that it was a known issue on various networks

Also ...have you checked the network status?..http://status.o2.co.uk/

Check your post code with this link to see if there are any local problems: http://status.o2.co.uk/

Make sure your phone is set up for idata and not the standard data settings.

Yeah normal for iPhone.
You'll get email and imessage on 2g but that's all.

I now have the iPhone 6 plus, but have also had the iPhone 5, had the same issue on them all.

It's not a signal issue, it's the fact that it times out the request. I know I don't have 3G where I work, it's a known black spot.

With issues on every iphone, how are other people finding android?

Until your area is upgraded it looks like things won't improve for you in the short term.

Do other networks have coverage there?
