Sounds like hardware failure but to rule it out, make a full back up of the phone with Kies (so you don't lose anything) then do a hard reset from recovery menu (Phone off and hold Vol Up + Home key then press power).

If none of the above works then if the phone is still within its two year warranty contact Samsung
