Hard locked

My Sony Xperia XZ1 is hard locked, my Grandson was playing with it and somehow he changed the pin code, have tried to enter numbers he said numerous times, however trying Xperia companion it is saying phone is locked. How do I go about repairing the Sony Xperia XZ1

If not it would be a factory reset of the phone, or sending off to Sony
