This may have been asked before, but that was several years ago. Maybe there is some new information on the subject......... I want to set up a router at a remote location for my home automation. The only external internet connection with the router is via a PAYG SIM. I also want to remotely administer the router and have set up a Dynamic DNS for that purpose to resolve the public IP address. I can't seem to get a connection to my remote router . Is there is issue using PAYG Phone SIM's for this purposes? Would a data only SIM (Tablet SIM) be more appropiate? Thanks.

@Maikaefer

You are going to struggle as it all sits behind CGNAT, so it wont route properly..  so your Public IP address is shared across lots of devices.

That applies to all o2 connections, pay monthly or PAYG for consumers..

What router are you using? And what Dynamic DNS Service?

This might be a better option albeit a lot more expensive https://www.aa.net.uk/voice-and-mobile/data-sims/

This is not customer services and we dont have access to your account
I do not work for o2 or any VMo2 /Telefonica/Liberty Global Company

The Router is TP-Link TL-MR6400 and I've tried Dynamic DNS with TP-Link's own DDNS and  NoIP without success. Thanks for the suggestion I'll look at the link you sent.
