I use my O2 mobiles for business. I’m a vet and clients need to contact me in an emergency. Yesterday coverage at my home and office was patchy and the report was mast repair 48hours. Today it’s nearly non existent and the report now says work in area ongoing until 5pm Sunday. Seriously unimpressed as no advance notification if this was planned. Can’t get enough reception to ring a business advisor to enable 4g/wifi calling and struggling to find a different way to contact other than post. Any suggestions? O2 used to be excellent at customer service pre takeover. Now it’s atrocious.

We’re just customers like you but it sounds like you’ll need someone to access your account which can’t be done from here. If you message O2 using the links below, they should be able to help you with this
or give them a call on 202  or 0344 809 0202

Mast repairs are an unknown factor depending on parts required and also if permission is needed for access. At least you know there is an active repair going on and hopefully they may restore coverage before Sunday for you

Do you have WiFi Calling enabled on your phone? If you have WiFi at your home and your office that will mean you can make calls in those locations even if the signal is totally down

https://www.o2.co.uk/connectivity/wifi-and-4g-calling

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Thank you all. I’ve got Wi-Fi calling enabled now-the website seemed to suggest I needed to get something activated on the account but it seems to be working AOK.

If you have been moved to the new accounting system. Wifi Calling is now enabled on the system by default and should be switchable on and off by the handset.

Mine is on permanently so I can just forget about it

@Nobbygonzo

It might not always be possible to give advance notification of mast issues. Weather issues, power supply problems, parts' failure and vandalism can all cause unforeseen mast repairs to be required.

When upgrade work on masts is planned in advance, I have always found O2 to be reliable at texting a warning that there might be interruptions. 👍
