I think I might be going mad here, Back in November 2023 I renewed my o2 sim only contract. The Black Friday deal seemed incredible 40gb data unlimited text and calls for £3.95. So good in fact that I renewed 3 contracts and even referred a friend.
The thing is, the tariff has just changed to £8, and when I studied the contract it is indeed £8 a month.
Now I checked pretty carefully at the time of ordered to make sure it wasn’t the sort of deal which has a reduced rate to entice me, then slam me later after a few months.
So that is the deal here? Have I been misled? I can’t find any record of the advertised deal anywhere. Has anyone else fallen for this ‘deal’?

Always read the T&C's before signing.
Hardly anyone ever does.

Looks like a 3 month introductory rate, probably negotiated by USwitch as I don't remember it appearing on O2 direct.
Perhaps talk to them to check

You need to take it up with uswitch, as they had been known to do this a long time ago, but not seen them do it for a while, as they now make it very clear if its an introductory rate, and if your contract states £8 per month, then sorry but nothing o2 can do about it...

The Uwitch page of Black Friday offers is archived on "The Wayback Machine" :-

I cannot see a £3.95 offer thereon from O2. However, there is :-
