Just need to find out what happens if you make a payment for your bill before it is meant to come out of hyour bank! will it still be taken out on a direct debt even though it has already been payed, by another way?!!!

It depends how soon you make the payment before the direct debit is due. You need to make payment at least 7 working days before or the DD will try to take payment again.

You could contact your bank or if you have online banking, suspend the direct debit for 1 month if you haven't allowed enough of a time interval.
