I became a new member to O2 last month and ay £7.50 for unlimited texts, which expires at the end of this month. I got a text from O2 saying that I have ran out of texts...there's a limit on unlimited texts? I had £2.50 left, now just £1.78 so I'm already being charged for it.
Anyone care to exlplain what is going on?

Unlimited actually means around 3000 texts..... It's all in the small print
Only on Pay and Go, it doesn't apply to Pay Monthly.
The small print only says "Subject to our fair usage policy."

As long as 02 puts this in their T&C they cover themselves. I once asked an 02 employee about their payg tariff and he quoted the unlimited texts part of it. On challenging him he back tracked and amended his response !
Personally I'd be hard pressed to send 3000 texts in any one month so my hats off to you.
Another option is to add a bolt on when you run out.

Its possible that one of the reasons why they altered the amount of SMS was that O2 payg were possibly being used for spam SMS to people.
As its being mentioned. Contract customers can send more that the 2990 SMS

who on earth would want an extreme amount anyway, you would need to send a text every minute of the month to use all that up lol
