02 4G tariff

I have just upgraded to a 4G iphone and am on a £23 per month tarrif.  The paperwork I haven to hand indicates this monthly amount includes VAT.

 

My first bill has come in at £29.32, showing a Tarrif of £23.26, an extra referred to as a 'loyalty discount', but debiting an amount of £1.17 and then adding VAT of £4.89.

 

I just cannot make sense of my bill through 'help' on the 02 website, nor can I get to speak to anyone at 02.

 

Can anyone shed any light on my bill for me?

Your first bill is always slightly higher as you pay an extra couple of days pro rata to bring you in line with your regular bill date.

You get a refund on your old tariff pro rata and pay the extra days at the new rate pro rata.
