This guide was updated recently, some changes in the Cards that Are Accepted section: Guide How to Top Up (PAYG) that might lead to a fix for your card issue, @Simon25.

I'm also having this issue. Every time I've tried topping up by my Lloyds debit card, it says it fails to process, doesn't matter if it's by dialling 4444, on this website, or on the O2 app.

Tried talking to Customer Services and issue has not been resolved.

@Dave87 This is a customer community. Apart from the guide provided above by @pgn, no one here can help you with this issue. You'll have to persevere with customer service.

You can also reach O2 via social media:
Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB), Twitter (now X) (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW), or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG)

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

Make sure your bank's details for you are correct - I had same with an M&S credit card some time back, turns out the card company had miskeyed some of my info on their side - as soon as this was corrected (I think it was a typo in my DoB, go figure!), card was accepted.

Also there used to be a limit of only 2 mobiles per account, so there were 2 in the house on one card, 2 on another card for a number of years. Not sure if that is still a constraint, @Dave87 - worth checking out though. Good luck!

Thanks, I've seen someone mention that a first top up must be done by e-voucher, then it'll accept debit card registration, so I'll give that a try!

@Dave87

I must admit that I always top-up by voucher. It is cost-neutral for me and helps to keep my local newsagent and Post Office in business.
