Hello everyone,
For 6 weeks to date, I am having trouble with my BB (9360 device Pay as you go on O2): I cannot access my linked email account, because its ‘password is not verified’. When entered the correct password it is not recognised, e.g. message: your …@hotmail.co.uk password is invalid. Please try again’.
The handset is still under warranty; it has been sent to be repaired; collected today – still the same issue: cannot send & receive e-mails from it; I have no problems logging from my laptop into the same email account.
Sadly, I don’t know where else to turn…May I appeal to the O2 Community’s pool of knowledge, again, please?
Please advise.
Kind regards….

Thanks for all of the information, makes trying to help you alot easier. I might have found the answer though about the two step authentication:
1. On your phone, go to Setup, then choose Email accounts and select your Outlook account.
2. Visit your security info page online, probably best on a PC, to get an app password.
3. On your phone, replace the password for your Microsoft account with the app password.
4. Tap Done.

Have you tried setting up a Gmail or other type of email account on the phone? Have you tried deleting the account and re-adding it again?
This is a known problem which has occured for people before but I can't find a definitive resolution for it. I'm sure one of my friends had this happen on her Bold 9900 as well but one day it just suddenly worked!
I think the link that MI5 has posted is a good idea, use the advanced email options and ensure that all of the relevant settings are correct and see if that works.
The only other thing I can think of is if your password has a symbol in it like $ or £, I've seen that cause problems with various systems before...

You haven't set up 2 factor authentication on the account and trusted the laptop have you? That would mean you would need an application specific password for the Blackberry which would need to be set up separately.
Otherwise as Papadug suggests try adding another email account or deleting and re-adding your hotmail account.

Dear All,
Thank YOU so much for all your ideas/suggestions!
I have try them all (apart from http://www.serversmtp.com/en/smtp-hotmail, which I didn't know how - sorry MI5).
My BB 9360 doesn't allow me to delete the @hotmail.co.uk account and then adding a new account; it always going to the same email account, prompting me for password, then 'password or email account invalid, contact hotmail.co.uk message'.
In the O2 store last week, someone tried to add his gmail account and it worked! and his hotmail.com account and it worked too, (of course deleting both account afterwards).
We even tried to set up my account onto his Sony phone and it worked until a certain stage.
Indeed, on my laptop I have 2 steps security re Microsoft account; which, if I am trying to logon from a diferrent machine than the one I setup my account originaly, I'll have to go through extra security check; usually is sending me 4 digit code via text, which then (once inserted) will allow me access the Outlook.
The same kind person in the O2, tried to setup my account on a new (demo) BB in the store (BB 97something) and it didn't work...
From the O2 perspective, the handset is fine, my hotmail.co.uk account is faulty...
I used to access my Hotmail.co.uk via Windows Live Mail. In Dec 2013 there was an automatic request for upgrading to Live Essentials, which has prompted me to create a Microsoft Account.
What is the difference between Windows Live Mail server http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/sync.aspx and the current server https://dub114.mail.live.com? Could this might be the problem?
I used web live chats with Microsoft and the conclusion was 'BB settings default, nothing wrong with my hotmail account as I am accessing it through my laptop' etc....
I found a Blackberry customer service number (08710505140) and a Microsoft one (08448002400) but is only for Mon-Fri and always engaged/call disconnected!!!...
I am contemplating buying a Nokia Lumia phone, thinking that being a Windows phone, surely it must work with hotmail.co.uk (as a Microsoft product)?! what do you think?
I am still frustrated and unhappy, as I feel I'm caught in the middle... yet, having a smartphone under warranty who doesn't do what it suppose to do, (and I'm still paying for it...)
Please advise, if anymore ideas...
Kindest regards

On a side note, to delete the email account from your phone:
1.Select the "All" menu on the home screen
2. Scroll to and select Messages
3. Press the Menu (blackberry) key
4. Scroll to and select Options
5. Scroll to and select Email Account Management
6. Wait while your Blackberry connects
7. Press the Menu key
8. Scroll to and select Delete
9. Scroll to and select Yes
10. The email account should have been removed from your phone.
If this doesnt work, let me know what stage you get stuck at.

Thank you for your suggestions.
I have followed the steps and got stuck at number '5: Scroll to and select Email Account Management';
My BB takes ages to connect to email settings/ (Initialising application); then is prompting me for the password which then 'invalid'; there isn't an option of the following steps:
7. Press the Menu key
8. Scroll to and select Delete
9. Scroll to and select Yes
10. The email account should have been removed from your phone.
...and this issue I presented to the O2 store when the my phone was sent for repairing; (and it was retuned as 'fine').
Kind regards, D
