Nokia Lumia 800 - Windows Phone 7.8 Update

Hi, I purchased my Nokia Lumia 800 late last year, expecting the Windows Phone 7.8 update around the January 31st launch time. Today is the 24th of February. Nearly a month on, and I still haven't received the update. O2 said around a 2-3 week delay is expected, but if you have to wait any longer, tell them. So, I suppose I am here. I got the phone on PAYG (Pay as you go) but switched to a £10.50 a month simplicity contract. Whether this has anything to do with me not getting the upgrade, I don't know. I'd appreciate your help with this as it is kind of annoying expecting something that doesn't arrive - or arrives late.

Your not the only one, hard to find out, but I think most people who have got the update so far have used the force technique.

I'm giving it while the end of the month, then I to shall 'use the force'.

Has anyone been updated, without the force udate method (which I just can't get to work!).  5 March and still waiting.

Roll out is on hold at the moment while MS sort out the live tile bug.

Assume all will begin again when they sort it.

Can anyone from 02 give an update on when this might be rolled out to Lumia 800s? It's now March 8th and there's no official answer or update.

I find the lack of communications around this quite unprofessional.

If MS have blocked the update to fix some bugs, what makes you think O2 will still release it? As frustrating as it might be you'll just have to wait for the roll out to start again. Maybe MS can give you an idea of when this might be?

I've asked O2 to respond on Twitter to which they said it was an MS delay. I asked in-store (Stratford, London) and was told it was because 02 were testing. I got the same response when I rang customer support who said 02 would communicate about this shortly. That was two weeks ago.

So who is delaying? Is it 02 or MS?

Woohoo new slant on problem, woke up Saturday morning to be told by my phone Lumia 800 I have got an update

Connect to PC Zune says your phone is up to date.

Ah well, the saga continues......

Got an update yesterday, but not to 7.8. It's only updated me to 7.5 V7.10.8773.98.

What is going on with this update process. Does anybody at O2 actually know what's going on here???

Well I've just got the update available for your phone note on my lumia 800 again, guess I'll plug it in tonight and go through the usual 'Your phone is up to date'.

I'll keep you informed.
