BlackBerry Internet Service shutdown date?

I'm sitting pretty using a BB Curve 8520 right now, and I've noticed how most other UK carriers have switched off their BIS servers. If O2 will do the same (which they most likely will, unfortunately), does anyone have an idea of when it might happen?

Thanks

Currently using a BlackBerry Bold 9780.

@Marjo was trying to find out about this a couple of years ago.

I've just asked if there is anymore info available.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

I thought O2 had already done this. I'm sure it won't be long now though that they do switch off BIS.

If I remember rightly, Vodafone still has their servers powered up, and offer BIS as a £5 30-day bundle. I think O2 and Voda are the last two UK carriers to still provide BIS. Sad, really.

I'd hang on for an update off @Marjo next week.

Personally I would be moving away from Blackberry however comfortable you are with it. Sooner or later Blackberry will be a dead duck in afraid.
