Dad's Army film 'in the works

"A big screen version of classic TV sitcom Dad's Army is to be made, according to reports."

Sometimes classics should be left alone IMO. This is such a case I believe.

A stupid idea. Today's generation will have litle interest in stories of the Home Guard and the older generation remember the original cast with a certain fondness. There would have to be some very big names in it but I can't see too many of them queing for a role in it.

Toby Jones would be great casting actually. However I'm with you guys, I don't think it's the best idea.

Although, George Clooney's recent movie; Monument's Men had a Hollywood-esque feel of Dad's Army about it which makes me think it has potential. Has anyone seen it?

This seems really bizarre to me too. I might see it if my mum wants to but I reckon she'll want to steer clear.

I have enjoyed the original Dad's Army many times over, but a movie does not appeal at all to me without the original actors

My son 29 used to really enjoy the programmes too
