Hey everyone,

The trailer for the live action version of Ghost in the Shell dropped over the weekend and it looks pretty good! I’m a fan of the original anime film which came out back in 1995 and incidentally was the inspiration for the Matrix movies. The live action version looks like it’s going to stick closely to the source material and could be a decent watch!

Is anyone looking forward to this version? Have you seen the original or the anime comic and how do you think this will compare to them?

So Scarlett Johannsen in a tight bodysuit with a gun, ninja kicking everyone on a one-line delivery...hold on, isn't that the same role she had in Avengers?

Must go and see the anime version now, think I scrolled past it on Netflix as one to watch.

They have made three films and two series based on the manga.
Got the first 2 films, all of the first series and some of the second.
What I have seen is very good. Bit twisted, but that is anime for you!

Oh, and not child friendly!!

@sheepdog Yes that pretty much sums it up although this will have a very different tone to the Avengers movies. You should definitely check out the anime version, it's a good watch although can be a little strange in parts.

@gmarkj Haha yes anime can be a bit dodgy at times Smiley Very Happy I didn't know the had done a series based on this. I'll have to check it out!

It gets a little bogged down at some points, but the animation is very good (from memory).
Even though they are all about the same group they don't tie in very much. In fact I think they even contradict at points!

@gmarkj Sounds good! I like the futuristic world the film is set in so will be good to see what the series has to offer.
