There's nothing like a bit of seasonally-themed reading so I've wrangled up some spooky season reads to put in your ears.
The Audible library is massive so give it a look through and don't be afraid to listen to something you've already read before!

4.6 out of 5 stars (1,556 ratings)
This new Stephen King novel has been talked about constantly in every book group I know. And rightfully so! King leaves the horror behind and creates a whole new world. It's got a mysterious cassette tape, an epic battle between good and evil, and a dog. You can't go wrong with this one.

Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before?
By: Dr. Julie Smith
Length: 7 hrs and 13 mins
Release date: 06-01-22
4.6 out of 5 stars (1,903 ratings)
Maybe not a spooky listen, but still relevant in the month of October in the spirit of Mental Health Awareness. This is a great one for anyone who wants to understand their minds a bit better. I love the short-entry format which makes it so digestible and enjoyable to read.

"Weirdy McWeird wrtes another cracker so he does." ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Honestly if you are looking for something fun and weird to read, give this a listen or head to your local library to check it out. This book is honestly brilliant. It's the first in the series so if you're sad to see it go, check out This Charming Man.

The Letters of Shirley Jackson
By: Shirley Jackson, Laurence Jackson Hyman - editor, Bernice M. Murphy - editor
Length: 18 hrs and 57 mins
Release date: 13-07-21
5 out of 5 stars (2 ratings)
"i am having a fine time doing a novel with my left hand and a long story - with as many levels as grand central station - with my right hand, stirring chocolate pudding with a spoon held in my teeth, and tuning the television with both feet."
When I think of Halloween classics, I reach straight for Shirley Jackson novels. The Haunting of Hill House and We Have Always Lived in the Castle are some of my most favourite reads. The author had a very tumultuous life and it always showed in her works. This looks past the outside observer's view and straight to Jackson's own experiences.

By: Jamali Maddix
4.8 out of 5 stars (192 ratings)
WARNING: CONTAINS STRONG LANGUAGE AND ADULT CONTENT
This podcast is part of the Audible Plus Catalogue so it won't use up any of your credits, which I think is great for those of us who are very picky about podcasts. Comedian Jamali Maddix asks his fellow comedians and some celebrities to share their spooky experiences. You'll definitely laugh out loud.
