i need to change my phone number over to another sim card, but i couldnt access my account in the O2 Shop because the answer was wrong on the security question. i have the new sim card here now but need my number transferred onto it.

You can do a sim swap yourself Guide: Sim Swap: a mini guide 2017 update
or login to your MyO2 and change your security question and answer under "My Details"
