Scam or not ?

Ello all.

Right then, I've just had a call to my mobile from some guy, South East Asian from the sound of it, from O2's Future Promotions Team, telling me that O2 were going to give me a discount on my monthly contract for 6 months, and asked me to give him my e-mail address.

I told him you've already got it mate, and he blathered on, so I went one step further, already convinced it was a scam.

Gave him my email, and he sent me the message with the link. 

It takes you to a page which is IDENTICAL to O2's sign in page, BUT, at the top of the screen in the address bar, the addy it's from is, 

https://olivedrab-monkey[removed]

Now, that's far as I went and hung up.

When I checked it against normally signing into my o2 account, the info in the address box is

https://accounts.o2.co.uk/signin

So I'm guessing a scam

Anybody else had this ?

It's a scam.

If you think you’ve been the victim of fraud, whether it’s because you’ve given details to someone over the phone, or clicked on a link in a suspicious text or email there are things you can do:

Contact your bank if you think you may have given out financial information. They can help protect your account and stop transactions.

Change your account and online account passwords. Not just your O2 account. All of them.

Forward fraudulent texts to O2 for free on 7726.

Contact Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040.

Call your Virgin Media or O2 customer services number if you think somebody’s taken out a contract using your details.

Virgin Media customers can phone 150 from their landline or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone.

O2 customers can call 202 from their O2 phone or 0344 809 0202 from any other phone.

You can block the number that called you, or any number you think may be suspicious.

It's a well known scam.
Block the number and do not follow any links.
Forward the scam text or number to 7726 - It's free.

@Bozza You should not have clicked on that link. Follow the advice above, read the information given in the links in those posts, change your passwords, and keep an eye on your bank account.

Clicked on the link, and went no further. Did absolutely nothing else. Banks fine thanks.

@Bozza Glad to hear there's been no problem for you. I would, however, suggest that you stay alert and be wary of any other suspicious texts or calls you may receive which may or may not be related to the last call you had from them. Because you clicked on the link the scammers know who you are now. There's no such thing as being too careful when it comes to things like this.
