I am aware that this was flagged in 2022 as a scam but it's still being used.

Today someone called my husband from this number saying they were from O2 and offering discounts.

.

We checked the genuine O2 site and 2 of the products offered were not stocked by O2.

Presumably they are just trying to get access to card/bank details?

Beware..again.

Yes, just block the number and report it to 7726

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

I've just had a call from this number who called me by my name, asked me if I'm the account holder, and then hung up after I confirmed I was. Blocked the number immediately.

Just rang this number from an old PAYG SIM which is due for the bin.

Got a robotic voice saying welcome to O2

As this has been going on some years I'm wondering if it is one of O2's 'trusted' partners

Reported to Action Fraud and blocked and reported to 7726

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

It's possible scammers have spoofed the number but I had a completely legit O2 partner call from 03333446973 with an upgrade for my tariff. Got an e-mail from an official O2 e-mail address after to confirm the upgrade, and a text from the legit O2 text number confirming the order. They did not ask for any bank details or card details etc, or any personal details beyond confirming info they already had on file. I did not click links in the e-mail initially just in case, but logged into my O2 account and the tariff upgrade is reflected there. I was very freaked out considering the amount of posts in this forum claiming it's a scam, but my call was fine and legitimate.
