Hello Folks!
I've just changed over to the £15 a month, unlimited text & internet,Pay & Go deal.
My son says that coz my card is old,I should get a new one from O2 that is 3G,as it will be a lot faster to surf.
Anyone got some experience with this?
Note:I live in Harlow,so is this a 3G area? :womanindifferent:

It will only be faster if your handset is 3G. Its easy to do, call/email O2 and they will send you one. When it arrives call them back and they will transfer your number and account over.

Hi there.

It's definately worth getting a new SIM whether you're in a 3G area or not.

Depending on what handset you have, you may find it runs better with a 3G SIM.

Try to imagine running a Kettle on a 3amp fuse... sure it will work, but eventually it'll go and you'll need to put a bigger fuse in it.

A 3G SIM is like a 13amp fuse to a kettle and even if your current handset doesn't support 3G, maybe your next one will.

Feel free to call O2 Customer Service and ask for a replacement SIM card which you can get free of charge, or alternatively feel free to pop into your local O2 store to get a replacement SIM there.

You won't lose your number, your minutes, messages or anything - however you may need to copy your contacts from your current SIM to your handset memory - then all you have to do is call O2, give them the long number on the back (it'll start with '8944' and hey presto!

Hope this helps.

Kind regards

Ash

Very strange, that analogy is wrong in so many ways.

Hmm... yes I would have to agree with you on that one - perhaps I should have worded it different?

Oh well... :robotsurprised:

Thanx one and all.:D
Some good information received and I will be getting on to the O2 peeps to get things moving.
The old card doen't have a 3G number in it's make-up,so time for a upgrade.
Cheers again.
