Hi all,
I'm new to O2, having left Three just a couple of weeks ago.
Today I tried to access my Slingbox at home for the first time over the mobile connection - I do this over wi-fi very frequently. To my surprise, it would not connect at all. Back to wi-fi, I'm in. Back to mobile, I'm out.
I've restarted my phone and it didn't help.
With Three it used to work just fine.
Has anyone had similar problems? Can anyone help?
Many thanks,
Luiz

I sometimes get this, especially if my router or slingbox has been restarted. Try going through the setup process on your slingbox for remote viewing, and then try again.

You're spot on. I had the router replaced at the remote end. I tested on wi-fi so thought everything was good with the port redirection. It turned out that over wi-fi I was using UDP to connect, not TCP, and apparently the UDP connection will not work over 3G.
In any case, with a now properly configured router, I can connect over wi-fi, 3G, smoke signals or whatever I want.
Good stuff! 🙂

Good to hear you sorted it, but I'm curious to know how you configured your FIREwall for smoke signals.
Sorry but that is all I can come up with at this time at night.
